This policy explains what personal information 1966 Americas collects through this website, how we use cookies, and the choices you have.
Who we are
This website is operated by 1966 Americas ("we," "us").
Questions about this policy or your data: enquiries@1966americas.com
What we collect
Information you send us. When you submit our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use it only to respond to your inquiry and to follow up on the conversation you started.
Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics cookies, we collect information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location (city or country level), device and browser type, and the website that referred you. This is collected through Google Analytics and Squarespace's built-in analytics.
We don't sell personal information.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two kinds:
Necessary cookies. Used for security and basic site function, and provided by Squarespace. These are always active.
Analytics and performance cookies. Used to understand which pages are visited and how visitors find the site (Google Analytics and Squarespace analytics). These are set only after you accept.
Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with _ga, which expire after up to two years. Squarespace lists the cookies it uses here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001264507-The-cookies-Squarespace-uses
Some pages may include embedded content from third parties, such as videos or social media posts. These providers may set their own cookies when that content loads, under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences. If you decline, we don't place analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences button on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
How we use information
To respond to inquiries
To understand how the site is used and improve it
To keep the site secure
Legal bases (where applicable data protection law requires one): your consent for analytics cookies; our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries and running the site.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and handle inquiries, including Squarespace (website hosting and forms), Google (analytics), and our email provider. They process information on our behalf and under their own privacy terms. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
How long we keep information
Analytics data: up to 14 months
Inquiries: as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the business relationship, then deleted on request or when no longer needed
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@1966americas.com.
