ABOUT 1966 AMERICAS
Chris Flannery - CEO
Chris Flannery is the co-founder and CEO of 1966 Americas. Over more than 30 years across the US, Europe, and Latin America, he has built commercial platforms for some of the most iconic names in sport, music, and culture, helping global personalities and brands maximize their intellectual property and create new, lasting revenue streams.
In 2011, Chris helped conclude the historic transaction to acquire, manage, and preserve Pelé's legacy, co-founding Legends 10 and running its day-to-day commercial operations for over six years. He spent nine years as COO and President of the Ripken Baseball Group, building Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr.'s business platform into a multi-faceted enterprise spanning team ownership, youth development, and a foundation now reaching more than 50,000 at-risk youth annually.
Since 2015, Chris has led 1966 Americas' exclusive joint venture with the Frank Sinatra Estate, and helped acquire and develop the photographic archives of Terry O'Neill, Baron Wolman, and Benny Gool. He curated the first traveling B.B. King exhibition at São Paulo's Museum of Image and Sound, and has developed exhibitions, publishing projects, and digital IP initiatives for The Beach Boys, Tina Turner, Nelson Mandela, and Neymar Jr., among others.
Chris is originally from the UK and has lived and worked in the US for more than 30 years. He speaks fluent Portuguese, a reflection of the deep, cross-border relationships he's built throughout his career, and the long-term, multi-generational view he brings to every legacy he helps grow.
